Job Description

LongView is seeking a UNIX (AIX) Software Integration Engineer in the Washington, D.C. area. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. A full benefits package will be provided. Primary job responsibilities include:
• Leadership responsibility for creation and delivery of complex services or custom products to customers (internal and external). Responsibilities typically include identifying customer requirements, developing a plan for product/service delivery, identifying and recruiting appropriate resources, assigning individual responsibilities, developing schedules to ensure timely completion and final delivery of a solution to meet customer requirements.
• Represent LongView as a business and technology expert
• Provide expertise to LongView customers as needed for project or business development assignments.
• Participate in or lead interdepartmental activities to ensure cross-organizational architectural guidance and other LongView customer solutions and offerings.
• Assign and monitor work of program staff, providing technical support and direction if so assigned in a management role.
• Provide expertise related to enterprise healthcare and health system initiatives.
• Remain current on all health industry standards and internally promote application of standards.
o Broker standards relationships (i.e. HITSP, HL7, EDI X12, NCPDP, CDA)
o Maintain expertise in technology platform alternatives (Ensemble, Fusion Middleware, Sun Java Integration Suite, etc.)
• Ensure alignment with health industry business and market standards.
• Assist in all stages of business development activities.
• Maintain positive relationships with other technical and (business and/or systems) architectural organizations.
• Attend meetings where business and technical expertise is required.
• Monitor individual or group work products or services from initiation through delivery, interfacing with customer on business and technical matters, to ensure alignment with customer and LongView needs.
• Position located in Falls Church, VA.
• Must be able to travel as needed in support of LongView and program needs.
Candidate resumes must demonstrate the following requirements in order to be considered:
• A bachelor’s degree in technical or management field from an accredited institution, plus eight year’s work experience; or a Master’s degree plus four years work experience.
• Eight or more years of business and technical architecture experience on projects, with at least three years on projects related to health information.
• Demonstrated work experience or direct knowledge that illustrates the ability to understand the Military Health System customer environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management.
• Expertise and experience in the development of winning proposals and technology-enabled business solutions for clients.
• Security Clearance required (ADP-II minimum) or able to obtain clearance.
• AIX LPAR Virtualization/AIX NIM.
Desired qualifications include:
• Program/project management experience, or experience in a comparable leadership position. Must have experience successfully managing people and projects.
• PMP certification.
