Job Description

Advises department management of unique test requirements and manages complex test programs. Provides guidance to department personnel on test procedure development, test conduct and report generation. Performs complex test operations to meet program requirements. Prepares program schedules and budgets in support of program requirements. Revise and establish improved testing methodology as needed (V-Model). Support QA processes. Provide pre- and post- testing documentation and decision-support deliverables. Able to perform script writing and testing series (e.g., integrated, regression, and functional testing). Maintain testing momentum with test incident tracking and periodic test status meeting during test cycles. Manage the test environment setup and maintenance efforts to include data population. Ensure proper use of test-oriented software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews customer requirements and specifications to ensure that tests will confirm that these are satisfied.
Reviews and prepares proposals for testing protocols and establishes needed testing conditions--develops operating procedures.
Develops complex systems, standards and computer programs for data acquisition to be used in testing. Collaborate with the quality control systems.
Identifies best practices and methods to reduce end-to-end test time without reducing test coverage.
Oversees actual tests and analyzes validity of results.
Experience with databases and their testing requirements.
Perform initial reviews of test results, test trends and implements corrective action as needed. Involves third party corroboration reviews as needed.
Prepares detailed technical reports of findings and makes recommendations to correct problems.
Performs professional work in one or more software and/or hardware engineering disciplines involving complex engineering testing fundamentals.
Provides guidance to less advanced engineers and may serve as a team lead on specific projects.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires a bachelors degree in a related field (e.g., BSEE, BS Computer Science, Physics) with an advanced degree desired and a minimum of 10 to 12 years experience in a specific field of test engineering.
