Job Description

Responsibilities: Collect and coordinate validation of language and area studies training requirements based on language proficiency levels and the impact on foreign language training. Update seat allocations and course schedule in appropriate databases for each class based on validated requirements, ensuring language levels of potential students is a key factor in determining the courses of recommended action. Consolidate vendor and immersion language training requirements based on language level and language training history. Collect, review and prepare Mobile Training Team (MTT) rosters and student language levels for approval of funding based on language levels and the most appropriate student to instructor ratio at a particular language level. Manage access for requirements submission and provide training to newly assigned Language Program Mangers on requirements submission. Collaborate with civilian Language Training Representatives, Curriculum Managers and Program Mangers to identify existing and emerging language and area studies training requirements. Coordinate, facilitate and document quarterly Language Training Council meetings. Advise the client on issues or concerns regarding service language training spend plans. Develop and update language center registration/enrollment processes and procedures in accordance with Language Training Support policies. Provide statistical data, as needed, to management to track effectiveness of language and area studies instruction.

Required Qualifications: Minimum eight (8) years experience in the last ten (10) years working as a language analyst or language training requirement specialist; with a minimum of four (4) years experience as a training program manager; Knowledge of Command Language Program regulations, instructions and orders; Knowledge of the scale used by the Interagency Language Roundtable to assess language skills and its impact on effective training; Minimum one (1) year experience with PeopleSoft or Oracle products; Experience with Microsoft Office Suites.

Required Education: Associate’s Degree in Education, Foreign Language, Area Studies, Intelligence Interpreting and Translating, Intelligence or directly related field – an additional two (2) years of directly related experience for a total of ten (10) years may be substituted).

Security Clearance: Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmental Information (TS/SCI) required.
